David H. Eun
Chief innovation officer, Samsung Electronics, and president, Samsung NEXT
New York, New York
David Eun has made a career out of helping organizations and individuals utilize emerging technology to promote innovation and entrepreneurship.
Eun is chief innovation officer of Samsung Electronics and president of Samsung NEXT, a group he founded to help entrepreneurs build, grow, and scale software and services businesses. A former Hollywood Reporter “Digital Power Player of the Year,” he has held senior management roles at AOL, Google, Time Warner, and NBC.
A proponent of diversity in education since his time at Harvard College, Eun served as a student coordinator for the Undergraduate Minority Recruitment Program and later as an alumni interviewer in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. He has also been an active supporter of the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences as well as the Harvard Asian American Alumni Alliance.
"Higher education is still the greatest source of life-changing mobility in our society today. Exploring Harvard's leadership role in increasing access to higher education for students globally is of great interest to me. I also believe that a liberal arts education can and should prepare our students for a rapidly evolving, increasingly interconnected future by providing exposure to both the humanities as well as the sciences."
Committed to public service, Eun co-chairs the Board of StreetSquash, a comprehensive youth enrichment program supporting children, families, and schools in Harlem and Newark, New Jersey. He also sits on the advisory board of PACER, a center supporting children and young adults with disabilities and their families.
