Íñigo Sánchez-Asiaín

A respected business leader and committed Harvard volunteer in Europe, Iñigo Sánchez-Asiaín enjoys collaborating with alumni around the world.

Sánchez-Asiaín is a longtime member and past president of the Harvard Club of Spain and president of the HBS Club of Madrid. He also served on the HAA board as a director for Clubs and SIGs in Europe and as co-chair on the succession planning committee.

He is founding partner of Portobello Capital, which has become a leading private equity investment firm in Spain. He is also a member of its executive and investments committee. Portobello was named “Firm of the Year in Iberia” by the Private Equity International Awards and twice received the Best Spanish LBO Fund GOLD Award from Private Equity Exchange, among other awards.

Previously, Sánchez-Asiaín was a consultant at Boston Consulting Group and held a series of roles at Santander, including deputy general manager. 

He is the lead independent director on the board of Grifols, a global manufacturer of plasma hemoderivatives serving human health in fields related to immunodeficiencies as well as Alzheimer’s research and development. He is also a member of its Sustainability Committee.
