Jane Labanowski

Working at the intersection of government affairs, technology, and engineering, Jane Labanowski cares deeply about inspiring students to pursue STEM fields.

Labanowski leads the spaceport development team at SpaceX’s south Texas launch site, supporting SpaceX’s Starship program. She previously supported government affairs, permitting, and business development at The Boring Company. While at Harvard, she consulted with the United States Digital Service in support of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and worked for the U.S. State Department in China.

Enthusiastic about engaging students in STEM education, Labanowski works to increase volunteer engagement with local schools and organized the SpaceX Hyperloop Student Competition for three consecutive years.

Labanowski has served in numerous volunteer roles, including as a director for Harvard College from 2016 to 2019 and as an initiative committee leader from 2019 to 2020. She has prioritized volunteer service to the University locally as well, serving as an alumni interviewer for the Harvard Club of the Rio Grande Valley and the Harvard Club of Southern California.

Labanowski was co-president of Harvard Women in Business and a member of the Harvard women’s varsity volleyball team as an undergraduate, and she is currently a member of the Friends of Women’s Volleyball Board.

“Volunteering on the HAA board has allowed me to energize my alumni peers into real action. I’m interested in continuing to motivate multigenerational volunteer work within the Harvard community, and I hope to bring the perspective of a recent graduate to the elected directors team.”
