Jason W. Young

An entrepreneur and leader of inclusive technology companies, Jason W. Young is a strong proponent of financial literacy and economic empowerment.

Young is managing partner of Totally Human, a technology company that helps organizations identify unmet needs and design experiences that resonate with diverse customers, and a general partner of educational technology investment fund Long Term Impact. Before this, he launched MindBlown Labs, which helps millennials engage in strategies around retirement planning through gamification. He was also an entrepreneur-in-residence at Citi Ventures.

In 2014, President Obama appointed Young to serve on the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability for Young Americans, charged with contributing to the nation’s future financial stability and increasing upward economic mobility.

A former member of the Harvard Black Alumni Society, the Harvard Club of New York, and the Harvard Club of San Francisco, he is co-founder and board chair emeritus of the Hidden Genius Project—which trains Black male youth in technology creation, entrepreneurship, and leadership—and is vice chair of the National Endowment for Financial Education.

“I believe that many of the social ills that impact people of color in the United States are rooted in poverty and lack of economic leverage, and I have spent the majority of my career working to create economic opportunity for underserved populations through financial education and workforce development. We have some of the most dynamic alumni in the world, and I’m excited about possibilities for social change and economic impact that arise from strengthening the HAA’s connective tissue.”
