Salomé Cisnal de Ugarte

Salomé Cisnal de Ugarte is the managing partner of Hogan Lovells International LLP’s Brussels office, specializing in antitrust and competition law. She regularly works for international clients on complex global transactions spanning multiple jurisdictions. In 2018, Politico ranked her as one of the top 10 women who shape Brussels.

Cisnal de Ugarte is the former vice chair of the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union and the current vice chair of its Competition Committee. A former Fulbright Scholar, she previously served as president and board chair of the Fulbright Alumni Association of Belgium. She is also an associate professor of EU competition law at IE Law School and a fellow of the Center for European Studies at IE in Madrid.

Since graduating from Harvard Law School, Cisnal de Ugarte has remained actively engaged with the University, contributing to the Harvard alumni network. As an HAA appointed director for Europe, she co-chaired the Clubs & SIGs Fostering a University-wide Community Committee and helped organize the annual European Club & SIG Leaders Meetings. She previously served as president of the Harvard Club of Belgium and treasurer of the Harvard Law School Association of Europe.

She and her husband, Marco Becht, have four children.
