An accomplished advertising and strategic communications consultant, Randolph Lindel is devoted to community service and helping people navigate recovery from addiction.  

A semi-retired senior director at Westport Consulting Group, Lindel spent over 25 years in the advertising industry, working at agencies including J. Walter Thompson, McCann-Erickson, Backer & Spielvogel, and Bates Worldwide, where he was chief operating officer.    

Lindel has volunteered with addiction recovery organization SMART Recovery for many years, serving as director and treasurer and contributing to marketing and communications. He has also held leadership positions for Rotary Clubs in Connecticut and Massachusetts, as well as the Blue Hill Troupe, a musical theater performing company and charitable organization in New York City.   

A longtime co-chair of his class Reunion Committee and class webmaster, he was founding co-chair of the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) Crimson Society. He has been a director for Harvard College on the HAA board, chair for an HAA engagement and marketing committee, and member of the Harvard Clubs of Boston, New York, and Philadelphia. As an undergraduate, he played football, performed in the Lowell Opera House, and was Freshman Jubilee vice chair.
