Former chief technology officer of the United States, Todd Park is a social entrepreneur focused on how innovation can improve people’s lives.

As U.S. CTO, Park introduced new ways for technology to advance the public interest across diverse government domains. His contributions included working to make government data publicly available and accessible as fuel for social good, attracting more top technologists into public service, and helping to dramatically expand access to affordable health insurance for millions of Americans.

He now serves as co-founder and executive chair of Devoted Health, a company that helps older people improve their health and well-being. He also previously co-founded pioneering health information technology companies Athenahealth and Castlight Health.

“My life’s work is to unleash the power of innovation in service of the public interest to help improve as many lives as possible.”

He has been recognized by Fast Company as one of the most creative people in business and by Rock Health as “Disruptive Founder of the Year.”

Park is a board member of New America and a past advisor to Ashoka, a global incubator of social entrepreneurs. Through Ashoka, he helped launch a venture to bring clean water and medicines to rural India.

“As the child of Korean immigrants who came to the United States with virtually nothing, who still vividly remembers seeing Harvard Yard for the first time, I would love to serve the University that changed my life and help it continue to change the lives of others for generations to come.”
